Wickham Vineyard wines
In all, Wickham Vineyard produces 8 different wines, two of which are being immediately introduced to the WineShare wine list.
Wickham Special Release - Fumé
A blend of 80% Bacchus and 20% Reichensteiner white grapes that are fermented in French oak barrels. This year it won the Trophy for the finest oaked wine in England, as well as gaining a 'Highly Recommended' in the International Wine Challenge.
Sadly for us, these awards have cleared out the 2006 bottling, so the 2007 harvest will be the first available to WineShare members next Spring.
Wickham Row Ash Red
A blend of 70% Triomphe D'Alsace grape and 30% Rondo, matured in French oak. The 2004 harvest of this wine was awarded a Bronze medal at this year's IWC, in which 10,000 wines from all over the world competed.
Wickham Special Reserve Red
A full bodied red wine made from Rondo and Pinot Noir and matured in French oak barrels for 12 months. A fruity wine, reminiscent of damsons and blackberries, with a powerful nose that makes it a perfect accompaniment to red meats.
