Winemaker
Allen Chevalier

Allen Chevalier is one of the most charming Frenchmen we know. His career as a top advertising executive obviously gave him a taste for good wine - but until he bought Chateau Constantin-Chevalier in 1990 he knew nothing about winemaking.

Undeterred, the Chevaliers became willing pupils at the excellent school of oenology in the nearby town of Carpentras. And at each and every stage of his vineyard and winery development, Allen sought the advice of an expert; Daniel Peraldi, President of the Union of Oenologists for the regions of Cotes du Rhone and Provence, who remains their consultant.

But it is Allen who tends the vines and makes the wine. It has become a way of life, and his grand passion, to which he is completely committed. He may have come late to winemaking, but he is far from an 'amateur', and his wines regularly win awards, and have received high ratings from Robert Parker and the important French Guide Hachette.
