Domaine du Grand Mayne
Grand Mayne Cellar

Domaine du Grand Mayne is one of the top vineyards in the Appellation Cotes de Duras, in the Lot and Garonne region of France. It is positioned perfectly on south facing slopes among rolling hillsides, near to the village of Villeneuve de Duras, just south of the Dordogne.

South-facing slopes and a clay and limestone soil provide the ideal environment to cultivate vines, and over the last 20 years the vineyard has been completely replanted with over 120,000 vines. Every vine has been carefully selected, by grape variety, clone and suitability to the soil.

The variety of grape is regulated by the appellation and for Cote de Duras these are Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon for the white wines; Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc for the red wines. In the last two years alone, Domaine du Grand Mayne had been awarded six Gold Medals and nine Silver Medals. The outstanding quality of the wines has also been acknowledged by the the coveted Coup de Coeur in the Guide Hachette (The French wine-buyer's bible).

The 84 acres of neatly manicured vines have been planted to maximise the best that modern technology can offer in viticultural practice. Every year sees more investment in both the vineyard and in the winery. Domaine du Grand Mayne now boasts one of the finest, state of the art wineries in the region, ensuring that very high quality standards are maintained.

The most recent development was the creation of an air-conditioned underground barrel cellar where 200 oak barrels gently mature our finest wines. Continuous investment ensures that Domaine du Grand Mayne retains its position as one of the top vineyards in the Côtes de Duras.
